This is a living, breathing constitution that will change and evolve over the lifetime of this league. Changes will happen between seasons as often as possible and will be effective from that point moving forward. If you have suggestions for changes, please submit them to the league commisioner and it may be put to a vote for next season. This constitution will not cover every situation as there are too many variables to cover.

[1.0 League Entry Fee]

[1.1 League Engry Fee - $200 per team]

League Fee must be paid by draft day. Any player that has not paid by draft day may forfeit the right to draft depending on the circumstances, and will forfeit any weekly winnings back to the total prize pool.

[1.2 Trophy Maintenance Fee - $40 out of the pot]

Due to greater than expected costs for trophy maintenance and shipping there will be an annual $40 trophy fee starting in 2020. Fee is taken out of the pot and will be used by the commisioner to pay for costs related to the trophy that year. Any leftover money from the $40 after the trophy has been engraved and shipped will be given back to first place.

[2.0 Prize Payout Structure]

Payout Structure is based on the assumption of a 12 team league.

[2.1 Weekly Payout]

The highest scoring team each week will win $40, except during playoffs, totaling $560 for the season. (Weeks 1 - 14).

[2.2 Champion payout structure]

  • First - $1200
  • Second - $400
  • Third - $200

[3.0 League Setup, Rules, and Rosters]

[3.1 League Setup]

The Money League will consist of 12 different teams, all in the same conference. The schedule will be randomly generated at the start of each season. The Regular Season will consist of 1 week head-to-head matchups for 14 weeks. There are no tiebreakers in regular season matchups. 6 teams will compete in the playoffs weeks 15-17. Seeding is based on win percentage and then total points scored as the tiebreaker. The top 5 seeded teams will make the playoffs. The team that scored the most points in the regular season is guaranteed 6th seed. If the top regular season scoring team is already in the playoffs then the top 6 seeded teams will make the playoffs. The top 2 seeds get first round byes. In the event of a playoff matchup tie, the higher seed will advance to the next round.

If the season is cancelled for any reason before Week 6 buy-in money will be returned. If the season is cancelled for any reason after Week 6 - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be ranked by Record and then Total Points. Payout 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Refund remaining weekly money equally.

Playoff Round 1: (Week 15) No.6 vs No.3 | No.5 vs No.4
Playoff Round 2: (Week 16) No.1 vs (Low Seed) | No.2 vs (High Seed)
Playoff Round 3: (Week 17) Championship

[3.2 Draft]

Draft is Auction format with a $200 Auction budget. Draft will take place 1-2 weeks before season start on ESPN.

[3.3 Keepers]

  • Two keepers per team per year. You can keep a player for two years max, not including the year drafted (3 years total).
  • Trading does not reset a player’s keeper years.
  • Keeper cost is the same as the draft cost last year + 2.5% of the total budget
  • A player must be kept for a minimum of $20/RB or $15/Other of your total budget. This would apply to all undrafted waiver wire pickups.
  • Any player that is on your roster at the end of the season can count as your keeper
  • Example 1: Undrafted player picked up off waivers. Keeper cost: Year 1: $20 Year 2: $25
  • Example 2: Player drafted for $19. Year 1: $24 Year 2: $29

[3.4 Rosters]

  • Roster Size: 15
  • Starters: 9 (1QB / 2RB / 2WR / 1TE / 1FLEX / 1DST / 1K)
  • Bench: 6
  • 1 IR
  • Max # of each position: (4QB / 8RB / 8WR / 3TE / 3DST / 3K)

[3.5 Free Agency]

Free Agency will be Auction based. Each team will be granted a Player Aquisition Budget of $200 at the start of the season. There are no transaction limits and no minimum bids. Free Agent Auction Tiebreaker is based on the inverse of standings (reset each week). Waiver Period is 1 day.

[3.6 Trading]

Trades are highly encouraged in The Money League. The trade deadline is the Wednesday before Week 10 (November 9, 2022). Trades will be instant without any review period. When collusion is apparent or league competition is severly stifled due to the trade then the trade will be reversed. The League commisioner reserves the right to reverse any trade they deem inconsistent with league competition and fair-play standards. This veto power will only be invoked in extreme cases.

FAAB trade rules: Both teams need to send a slack message in the trading channel stating the agreed upon FAAB amount before the trade is accepted. After the trade is accepted the commissioner will adjust the FAAB for each team accordingly. The commissioner reserves the right to reverse trades (example… If the team giving FAAB does not have the agreed upon amount in their budget).

[3.6.1 Collusion]

If collusion occurs then the players colluding will forfeit the chance to win money and will be kicked out of the league. In the event of collusion the pot will be given to the next placed players. Collusion includes any agreement, outside of the trade in question, that affects the trade in question: “Trade back” agreements, rentals, money changing hands, buying the other owner a beer, doing work for the other owner, etc.
